The Larson scanner is named after Glen A. Larson, the man responsible for producing both the original Battlestar Galactica and Knight Rider television shows.

The Larson Scanner is sold as a soldering kit. The kit is very easy to build, and includes a pre-programmed microcontroller, battery holder, and nine ultrabright red LEDs.

USBtinyISP is a simple open-source USB AVR programmer and SPI interface. It is low cost, easy to make, works great with avrdude, has both 6 and 10 pin standard ISP cables and tested under Windows, MacOS X and Linux.

You can re-program Arduino's (or other AVR microcontrollers) using this programmer.

Meggy Jr RGB is a new kit from Evil Mad Scientist Laboratiories. It is designed as a platform to develop handheld pixel games. It's based around a fully addressable 8x8 RGB LED matrix display, and features six big fat buttons for comfy game play.

The kit is driven by an ATmega328p microcontroller, and you can write your own games or otherwise control it through the Arduino development environment. Meggy Jr is fast, programmable, open source and hackable. And fun.
